DJI Matrice 400 Drone

Payload Performance

Matrice 400 offers a tremendous amount of flexibility when it comes to the payloads you use. It has a capacity of up to 13.2 lb and has connections for up to three gimbals. There are also four external E-Port V2 ports for the overall simultaneous mounting of up to seven payloads. The drone works with the Zenmuse H30, L3, P1, and S1 gimbal cameras, as well as non-camera payloads, such as the Zenmuse V1 loudspeaker or Manifold 3 processing unit.

Enhanced Omnidirectional Obstacle Avoidance

Getting close and staying clear of small to large obstacles is easy with the Matrice 400. It uses integrated rotating LiDAR and mmWave radar for ultra-fine precision and four full-color low-light fisheye vision sensors that provide Full-Color Vision Assist. Together, they let the Matrice 400 detect individual power lines, even in darkness, and get up close to the glass facades of buildings or wind turbine blades. When avoiding obstacles, it can penetrate both rain and fog to detect them, as well as evade buildings, mountains, and other large objects at speeds of up to 55.9 mph.

O4 Enterprise Transmission

With the combination of an integrated 10-antenna array and remote with a high-gain phased array antenna system, the Matrice 400 can transmit video from the drone to the remote's screen from up to 24.8 miles away. Supporting the sub2G frequency band, pilots can pick up the optional Cellular Dongle 2 to automatically switch to the best available carrier network for increased signal stability. Airborne Relay Transmission

A built-in video transmission relay module lets the Matrice 400 serve as a relay drone to other Matrice 400 drones, significantly increasing transmission range and operational coverage in mountainous regions.

AR Projection

• Power Line AR: When power lines are detected, the remote's display will overlay colored lines (based on distance) on top of the real power lines for easy avoidance.

• Map View AR: Day or night, this function overlays names of buildings and landmarks on your remote screen when in urban areas.

• AR Flight Waypoint: Your route is clearly overlayed onto your remote's live view from the drone during RTH, obstacle sensing, and FlyTo operations.

• AIR Aircraft Shadow: When landing, pilots will be assisted with an image overlaid onto the landing zone.

• Live Annotations: You can manually annotate on the remote's screen to obtain information, such as drawing lines to determine the distance between objects, tapping a spot to track a subject, or outlining an area to obtain its size. Results can be synced to DJI FlightHub 2 for everyone on your team to see.

Real-Time Terrain Follow

Working in any horizontal direction under either manual or automated flight, this feature keeps a stable relative height to the ground as it flies. This is key in operations like search and rescue, where you don't have to constantly zoom in and out as the size of the object changes. With everything consistent, buildings, trees, and other objects can be addressed quickly, so you can find your subject more easily. It even helps when mapping for higher precision data.

Ship Takeoff and Landing

To accommodate maritime missions, such as patrols or wind turbine inspection, the Matrice 400 can safely take off from stationary ships and land on them, whether they're stationary or moving.

Intelligent Flight Modes

• Cruise: Acting like your car's cruise control, this locks the drone into automatically flying forward, so you can cover long distances without having to constantly push the remote's stick forward.

• FlyTo: This mode will take the environment into account and automatically set the best path and speed needed to get to a specified destination quickly.

• Smart Track: Provides precise subject positioning and automatic zoom while tracking moving objects, lets you switch between subjects easily, and can even reacquire a subject automatically after it has briefly been obscured from the drone's view.

• POI: Enables continuous observation and 3D modeling of buildings as it orbits a designated area, helping to deliver precision to surveillance and mapping operations.

Open Developer Ecosystem

• Intelligent Algorithm Developer: Provides the necessary model training tools and third-party developer certification process to access onboard computing capability.

• PSDK: E-Port V2 supports USB 3.0 high-speed payload communication and up to 120W per port. The E4 port of the E-Port V2 can be expanded into four payload ports via the optional E-Port Hub expansion plate, unlocking broader application scenarios for the Matrice 400.

• MSDK: Simplifies the development of apps to control the Matrice 400 with fully open-source, production-level code samples with core modules adapted from DJI Pilot 2.

• Cloud API: With DJI Pilot 2's built-in Cloud API (MQTT-based protocol), you can directly connect the Matrice 400 to third-party cloud platforms. Access the drone's hardware, video live stream, and photo data without having to develop an app.

• Open Data Access: Developers can leverage payload, LiDAR, mmWave radar, and vision sensor data interfaces to build innovative applications.
